Privacy Policy

TrendVid is a free directory of trending YouTube videos. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to data when you use the site. We keep it short because we deliberately collect as little as possible.

1. Information we do not collect

• No account is required and there is no login, so we do not hold names, passwords or profiles.
• We do not ask for your address, phone number or payment details.
• We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

2. Information processed when you visit

• Server and security data. Our hosting and API run on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address, user agent and request metadata to deliver the site, cache pages and block abuse.
• Country detection. To default the country filter we read the country code that Cloudflare derives from your connection. It is stored only in your browser’s local storage; we do not keep a server-side profile of it.
• Your preferences. Language, theme, country and category are stored in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers your choices. Clearing site data removes them.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate usage (for example, which countries and categories are popular). Reports we see are aggregated.

3. Cookies and advertising

• We show advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s previous visits to this or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info and Your Online Choices (EEA/UK). Where required, a consent message shown by our consent management platform lets you accept or refuse non-essential cookies before they are set.

4. Embedded YouTube content

Videos open in an embedded YouTube player. When you play a video, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies and process your IP address and interaction with the player, subject to Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not host video files; we only reference public videos and let YouTube do the streaming. Thumbnails and titles are provided by the YouTube Data API and remain the property of their owners.

5. Legal bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)

• Legitimate interests — serving the site, keeping it secure and preventing abuse.
• Consent — non-essential cookies used for personalised advertising and analytics, where consent is required. You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie/consent settings link.
• Legal obligation — where we must retain records to comply with applicable law.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. California residents have rights to know, delete and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA; we do not sell personal information. Because we hold no accounts, most requests concern advertising identifiers — in that case the fastest route is the Google Ads Settings link above. You can also email us and we will help or forward your request to the relevant provider.

7. Children

TrendVid is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will act promptly.

8. Retention

Preferences live in your browser until you clear them. Cloudflare security and aggregate analytics data are retained for the short periods configured on our Cloudflare and Google Analytics properties, after which they are deleted or aggregated beyond identification.

9. International transfers

Our providers (Cloudflare, Google) may process data outside your country, including in the United States, using recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

10. Security

The site is served over HTTPS with strict transport security, restrictive security headers and a Content-Security-Policy. We keep no user database to breach.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update the “last updated” date above whenever this policy changes. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
